Samuelsen’s debut James Horner’s ‘Pas de Deux’

November 18, 2014

The world premiere commission of James Horner’s Pas de Deux for violin, cello and orchestra went down a storm during the season opening at the newly renovated Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. The piece, commissioned and performed by Mercury Classics’ Mari & Hakon Samuelsen, is a rare passage into purist classical music for legendary American composer Horner (Titanic, Avatar), and heralded a climactic working partnership with the Norwegian duo.

Look out for the album, coming in 2015 via Mercury Classics.
