Miloš Karadaglić has recorded the music for Studio Ghibli’s upcoming film, “When Marnie Was There”. Studio Ghibli is the Japanese animation film studio and is the world’s most successful animation house outside of the US. “When Marnie Was There” is directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi who directed “The Borrower Arrietty” in 2010.
Takatsugu Muramatsu, the composer behind the score for “When Marnie Was There”, was looking for a guitarist who could ideally express his music and after hearing Miloš’ recording of “Recuerdos de la Alhambra” was highly impressed with the beautiful guitar tone and the delicate tremolo.
Recording for the first time in Japan as well as recording his first ever film score, Miloš has performed the complete guitar repertoire for the film and is the first non-Japanese classical artist to participate in the music for Studio Ghibli. Speaking about the world famous animation film production company, Miloš has commented that “it is an honour to be involved in the film making production of Studio Ghibli.”
